When I hear colleges frown on quoting Wikipedia as a source, I always
think, "That makes perfect sense because the goal of higher education is
not to teach someone how to use Wikipedia but rather how to write
for it." Here's my own quick, quick outline of important resources for
online study at
SNHU.
VLACS ENG-122 |
overview before registering |
MS Word |
word processing (due to
OpenOffice save as Word 6.0
failed to open for instructor which I assume was security
settings related; easiest fix was to purchase Word stand
alone; SNHU does offer 360 free to students, but I have
always hated sly hooks being placed into me by corporate
software providers under the guise of Free; also
Comments function is priceless with easy SNHU conformity)
|
EndNote |
references management using MLA
(Zotero
was suggested by SNHU, but I already had 769 entries logged
into EndNote going back 1994 so ran both systems in parallel
briefly and settled on EndNote for PhD thesis)
|
MLA |
basic MLA style guide at
Purdue.edu
|
citationmachine.net |
online generator (11/12/20:
testing for comparison to EndNote)
|
no direct links |
could not establish direct links to course pages
or bookstore purchases; step through old SNHU email to
review purchases
|
withdrawn
from SNHU |
from my notes:

submitted withdrawal request
for FYE & ENG-122
Course Withdrawal - Case # [12803957]
have received all As (3) to date
but instructor's last emi reveals SNHU
incapable of judging my work on a deeper level |
